Designed by Diocesan architect J H Buckeridge, It was built by a Mr Icke for the sum of £780 including furniture. In 1917 the church was extra 18 feet, adding a nave and an additional vestry. In 1920 the present site in Sandgate Rd was selected and the Church was moved. The move involved the dismantling of the structure, the numbering of each board, and the reconstruction on the new site. A new tiled roof was added at the time. The re-assembled church was opened by Christmas Day 1921. Construction of a new brick sanctuary, associated vestries and chapel was commenced early in 1964 and was completed by November of that year. The Cross of Remembrance was erected in the grounds in 1921 at the cost of £105. A memorial to those who lost their lives during WWI, the cross was additional to memorial windows previously installed in the church building. The building was probably relocated due to noise from the railway line.
