Date approximate In the 1890s, Cloncurry developed as a major centre for Afghan cameleers who transported goods for the pastoral and mining industries. The Ghantown was located south of the Barkly Highway and on the western side of Cloncurry close to the junction of Anabranch and Coppermine Creesk. |
