This church was built after the union of the Wesleyan Methodists and Primitive Methodists in 1898. Clearly a break away group who had been worshipping in the nearby Methodist Church (originally Primitive) in Musgrave Street. The building was then leased to the Presbyterian Church who eventually built a new building on the site in 1960.
