Location deduced from topo maps and known locations of other churches in Mutdapilly in 1927 The church was built very quickly - tenders were called in early February, to close 13th Feb 1869. The church was consecrated on Easter Monday, 29th March 1869. "The building consecrated is built of hardwood, except for the flooring and battens, which are of pine; it is twenty-six feet long by sixteen wide. There is a very nice altar and a cedar pulpit, the whole of the work being faithfully and strongly done. The church will cost between ?60 and ?70, which is nearly all subscribed." (from The Queensland Times 1 April 1869). |
