'The building has been built by Messrs. Moir, Cousins, and Co , and is 33 ft. long by 22 ft broad. It is of hardwood frame, with pine chamfer boards. There are Gothic doors and windows, and the wall plates are 15 ft. from the ground. The structure is built on piles 3 ft. 6 in. high. It is situated about a quarter of a mile from the railway crossing, facing the Port Curtis road.' (MB 21 Nov 1887)
