The Morning Bulletin reported: Built on cement piers, with brick frontage, leadlight windows and tiled roof, the church is a fine addition to the many fine public buildings in Gladstone. It had been built as one of the projects to celebrate the centenary of Methodism in Queensland. The interior furnishings are polished silky oak, constructed to a set ecclesiastical design and are most pleasing, while the seats for the choir are arranged on a raised dais under a Gothic arch. In the centre a Whitehouse organ has been installed, behind which stands the finely panelled pulpit.
