Holy Trinity Church was opened in 1939, replacing an earlier timber building erected in 1882. It was designed by Newcastle architects Castlen and Sara. The builder was local contractor J Plimmer. The building was badly damaged by fire in 1942 and rebuilt in 1944. The spire was added in 1973. A feature of the building are the stained glass windows executed by Brisbane artists William Bustard and RX Exton. Twenty windows portray the life of Christ from the Annunciation to Mary, Mother of Christ. Four other windows depict religious stories and symbolism.
